Karina Espinoza, MD

Dr. Karina was born and raised in Lima, Peru where she learned to swim in the ocean, dance to salsa music, eat ceviche, and love the Lord. It was there that she discovered her passion for health care, specifically preventive and holistic care for children. She attended Stanford University as an undergraduate and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine for her medical education. She then did her first year of Pediatrics at UC Irvine/CHOC and finished her Pediatrics residency at University of Virginia. Throughout her training, she has devoted herself to the study and practice of global health and community outreach for the underserved. This has led to her current position at Liberty University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine where she is part of the Medical Outreach Community Interest (MOCI) committee, helping lead overseas medical mission trips as well as local outreach endeavors. In her day-to-day clinical practice, she enjoys helping each child and their family live healthier lives and has a heart for patients facing mental health struggles and language or cultural barriers.
