Michael Bryer-Ash, MD

Michael Bryer-Ash, MD, was most recently the Medical Director of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas, Nebraska Health System and White Cloud Health Center, LLC. He was formerly Professor and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix. Previously, he worked for the U.S. Public Health Service as Area Diabetes Consultant for the tri-state Oklahoma City Area of the Indian Health Service (IHS). He has been a Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Here, he was the Associate Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension; Director of the Gonda Diabetes Center; and Director of the UCLA subspecialty training program in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. Dr. Bryer-Ash is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Boards of Internal Medicine; the Royal College of Physicians of Canada; and the Royal College of Physicians of London, UK. Additionally, he is board-certified in endocrinology and metabolism by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He is also board-certified in Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Bryer-Ash has authored more than 75 scientific articles, books or book chapters. He has served as manuscript reviewer and/or senior editor for medical journals in the United States, UK and Canada. His clinical and basic research programs have been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the American Diabetes Association, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and industry.
